Examples:
дом [dawm] house
два [dvah] two
дама [dah-muh] lady

The letter З з [transcribed z]*
Examples:
знак [znahk] sign, signal
ваза [vah-zuh] vase
звук [zvook] sound

The letter Л л [transcribed l]
The letter л [ell] is a hard sound, harder than the l in table. Make the л as hard as you possibly can. Make sure that the tip of your tongue touches your upper teeth and then bends downwards.
Examples:
лом [lawm] crowbar
лук [look] onion
кукла [kook-luh] doll

The letter Н н [transcribed n]
Examples:
ну [noo] well!
нам [nahm] to us
ночь [nawch] night

The letter С с [transcribed s]*
Examples:
сок [sawk] juice
сон [sawn] dreem, sleep
нос [naws] nose

*The consonants з [zeh] and с [ess] sound sharper than the corresponding letters in English. Whistle more.
